Hi chicas! I hope your day is going well so far. I am all bundled up, keeping myself warm as we are getting hit by a snow storm in Northern Virginia, writing this blog post while watching my man play video games. Seriously tho, I am over this cold weather and am so looking forward for Spring to come. Who else is?

When you think of Valentine’s Day, you’d pictured yourself wearing the romantic and sultry color red or pinks, for some. Instead, I chose to break the tradition and went monochromatic with my look. Just a simple white cropped top, paired with a basic lace skirt for a sultry look and a pair of strappy heels. I love basic pieces, because you can do so much with it. On a typical day, I would wear the same cropped top with high waist jeans and a pair of sneakers. That’s why I don’t mind buying basic pieces all the time because in my opinion they are always classic and timeless and would not go out of style.

I went for a simple daytime smokey eye with nude lips for my makeup since it compliments my outfit (as you can tell, I am going back to basics here). You can always sub the nude lips with a bold red lips if you want too. I would wear a red lip, but it will be all messy and smeared after dinner. Haha!

My man and I decided to celebrate V Day on Friday instead (although we don’t usually celebrate it, probably on some rare occasions when we feel like it ) at our usual go to place so we could avoid the crowd and long queues at restaurants. Both of us are such huge steak eaters and Outback never disappoints. Thinking of Prime Rib makes me hungry. Mmmm….yummy! XOXO
