Hi everyone! I’m back from my week-long vacation!! I know I tweeted saying that I was gonna take another week off but I’m too eager to be blogging again. So I thought, what better way to start blogging again than Tip Tuesday. Though, I am going through vacation withdrawals. Haha! I will do a separate post about my vacation to the DR later. Anyway, lets get on to this week’s Tip. 🙂

Tip of the week: How to get perfect eyelashes.

Not everyone is blessed with long curly lashes. That’s why girls like me wear tons of mascara to accentuate our lashes and to achieve that long and voluminous lash look. Even after applying coats and coats of mascara, our lashes will not stay curled throughout the day and we feel the constant need to reapply mascara and keep curling them. Here are 5 tips on how to make or keep our lashes curled throughout the day and basically achieve the best looking lashes possible.

1. Coat both sides of your lashes to make your lashes thicker.

Girls with thin or light-colored lashes, apply mascara on both sides of your lashes. Switch between looking up and down while applying your mascara. That way, your lashes are coated and will look much thicker.

2. Heat up your eyelash curler for longer lasting curl.

Before you curl your lashes with an eyelash curler, heat it with a blow dryer until it feels warm. Wait for it to cool down slightly before you use it and apply your mascara afterwards.  This will help your lashes to curl easily and also hold the shape longer. Just be careful not to burn yourself.

3. Keep your lashes curled longer by wiggling your mascara brush at the base of your lashes.

To keep the longevity of your curls all day long, apply mascara starting at the base of your lashes and wiggling the brush back and forth where you want the base of your lashes to have a thicker coat of mascara and then lightly combing through the tips.

4. Layering waterproof mascara over regular mascara.

I love layering mascaras, but it all depends on the types that you are using. Layering waterproof mascara over regular mascara helps it last longer. The waterproof formula mascara will also help your lashes maintain their curl longer. As a bonus, the layered mascara is easier to remove than if you’re just wearing the waterproof type.

5. Apply powder to your lashes before applying mascara.

Use baby powder or a translucent powder with a cotton swab and apply it to your lashes. The powders allow your mascara to grip or stick on your lashes better and makes your eyelashes appear more voluminous.

I hope this was useful in helping you achieved the best looking lashes possible. I personally use all of these techniques (with great results) except for heating up the eyelash curler (since I don’t have one). If any of you have tried it, please give me some feedback in the comments. If you have really thin or straight lashes, try follow these tips and hopefully it turns out well for you. Girls with thick and long lashes can do it too, cos why not. Nothing wrong with having big bold lashes. 🙂
