My Winter Skincare Routine

Hello beauties!

This is going to be an updated winter skincare routine. I thought about including a little back story on my skin and all that jazz, and then I felt like it’s gonna be a super long post so I scraped that idea. Let’s just keep it short and simple shall we? =)

If you have been reading my blog for awhile now, you’ll know that I am a HUGE skincare junkie. As much as I love makeup, I feel that skincare is the most important if you want your makeup to look flawless like a porcelain doll. Having a skincare routine is crucial in maintaining your skin’s appearance (inside and outside). Using the right skincare products is equally as important because it could help to combat some of the problems your skin is having, (ie wrinkles, dark spots etc). I have really dry skin and since it’s winter, my skin is even drier than normal. So, I typically stayed away from products that are oiled free and gravitated towards products that has hydrating properties like hyaluronic acid, or cream moisturizers which has a more thicker consistency.

I switched my skincare products all the time, and I like to try out new things. But some products are my holy grail that I keep going back to them because they work well on me.

Going by the order on how I do my skincare routine starting with:

Before I start cleansing my face, I would use the Simple Cleansing Micellar Water to clean the extra residue from makeup, or excess oil on my face in the morning. This is not a necessary step, but I like doing it anyway. Or when I’m lazy to wash my face before I go to bed (all of us have been there), I’ll use this to remove my makeup and clean my face with it too.

I’ve been using this cleanser for a month now and I love it. It is a very gentle cleanser and it removes all the impurities on the surface of the skin. It has a very refreshing smell too, which I like. Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

For couple years, I’ve stayed away from using a toner. Don’t know why but I do missed it. I’m currently using this rose toner and it smells like roses. Duhh… Haha! Another product that is really gentle and doesn’t irritate my already dry skin. Fresh Rose Floral Toner

Before I apply my moisturizer, I like to apply a serum specifically for my dry areas. A serum is a gel like concentrate that targets problem areas. Since it has a thinner consistency, it can penetrate deeper into the skin. This is my first time using this serum since I’m out of my favorite serum (here) by Laneige. I’m enjoying it so far and I love how it smells too. Loreal Paris Youth Code Regenerating Serum

After applying serum, it’s time to put on a moisturizer. This winter, I have gone back to using my good ol’ Cetaphil moisturizer. I feel like other moisturizers don’t seem to work as well as this one because of how dry my skin has been. Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

The area under our eyes are usually the first place to get dry quickly, because the skin is thinner than the rest of our face. It is usually the first area we noticed small signs of ageing like wrinkles. This is one of the steps that many of us neglect to do, therefore it is important to incorporate eye creams in your skincare routine for maintaining a healthy and younger looking skin. Garnier anti-wrinkle firming eye cream.

Those are my everyday products I use, for the day time and night time. But some nights, I would go a little further and use extra products for when I feel like my skin needs a boost. For that, using a hydrating sleeping mask is convenient because the product will do it’s magic while your sleeping. My favorites are the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask or Glam Glow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment. And if I’m feeling up to it, I would do a sheet mask at least once a week. (My favorites ones right here ).

There you have it. Remember, skincare is really important for us women. Never neglect them, cos you’ll definitely be thankful by the results of your skin when you’re older. Start young (for my younger readers), and start using products with anti-aging properties to preserve the youth of your skin. =)

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend!XOXO ❤
