I have a favorites post for you today. I didn’t do one last month because I could not decide weather to do a December favorites or do my favorite products of 2015, so I decided not to do both. Haha! There were so many beauty products I absolutely adore and love in the year 2015, so much so that it was a little bit overwhelming for me to choose my top products of the year. A lot of the products are just repeats from previous months, and probably for the months to come also, so hang in there. I will definitely share with you if there are any new products that I’m loving or trying out. =)
Moving on to my January favorites, I don’t have that many favorites this month, but there’s one that is currently new, as in I just got it a few days ago and I’m sort of liking it?! I’m not sure. We’ll get to that later. So this month, whenever I wear makeup like on the daily (except when I am doing a makeup look for the blog), I’ve been going for a more basic, fresh face look, keeping it very minimal. Partly because of my super, extra dry skin. I’m staying away from wearing foundations because my dry skin would cling onto the foundation and make my skin look patchy and cakey, which is not pretty. So, what I’ve been using lately to keep my skin hydrated before applying makeup is the Loreal Youth Code Skin Recharger under my makeup. This is a hydrating serum. It absorbs into the skin quickly, leaving your skin looking plumper, and hydrated. I included this product in my winter skincare routine recently and I absolutely love it.
My next favorite of the month is the Loreal True Match Powder. This used to be my favorite powder ever to set my makeup, and not sure why I stopped using this. I love the buttery texture of it and it’s really lightweight, and I feel like it gives me enough coverage without looking like I am wearing a lot of makeup. Might I add that it’s a good bronzing powder too, if you’re looking for a natural looking bronzer. I am in the shade w4 (natural beige).
I know that the Clinique Cheek Pops have been out forever. I actually saw a Jaclyn Hill’s favorites video couple years back, where she mentioned that she loves the Clinique Cheek Pop and I wanted to get my hands on them so badly, but at $22 a piece? Probably next time. So, during the last Sephora VIB sale, since it’s 20% off, I figured why not. I’ve been reaching for this blushes so much ever since I got them and I love it. It has good pigmentation, and the packaging is adorable. I feel like the blushes are more for an everyday wear because it gives a natural flush of color to the cheeks, and makes your skin look healthy and glowy.
Another product that I’ve been eyeing on but, didn’t get until recently was the Gerard Cosmetics Color Your Smile Lighted Lip gloss. It comes in 30 different shades and out of those, I’ve been dying to try out the shade Nude and Butter Cream. I know I said that the Buxom lip glosses are my favorite, the Color Your Smile lip glosses are my current obsession. It’s so creamy and super pigmented and it feels amazing on the lips. They are also good for wearing on top of lipsticks or lip liners. I’m definitely gonna order more colors from them soon.
This last product, I’m including it in this post because I think I am liking it, even though I just got it a few days ago and I want to do a short review on it. I am talking about the Sigma Spa Express Brush Cleaning Mat. This is such an ingenious product. I’ve been putting off cleaning my make brushes for over a month (BAD!), because I don’t like how my hands felt after washing 50 brushes. I don’t know what prompted me to visit the Sigma website, but I saw this cleaning mat and yup, I know I had to get it. I love how fast it is to clean my eye brushes. It gets the job done in seconds, and my eye brushes looks brand new once it’s already dry. For my face brushes, I’m not quite impressed yet, because I feel like there were a lil bit of foundation residue left on the bristles, but with stippling brushes, it cleans really easily. So, I have to get back to you on this mat and I’m going to do a separate post on it.
I hope you like my picks for the month of January. Also, I started a Facebook page, check it out and give it a “Like” if you will. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!XOXO ❤
