I never was a fan of the color pink, but for some reason the color pink has been my go to color for Valentine’s Day this year. Maybe I just want to steer away from the usual red, even though red is more sexy and sultry. And if you saw my outfit post from yesterday, I styled an almost all pink Vday outfit idea, paired with camel hues for a more classy looking look.
Since I’m feeling the pink vibe, I decided to do this makeup look using the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. This is such a gorgeous palette. It has a lot of rosy gold tones, pinks and dark purples to create a flirty smokey eye.
Since it is Valentine’s day, I decided that a smokey eye would be perfect for the occasion. I used the color Limit as my transitional shade, and I add Nooner as my crease color, and adding more of it till I get the intensity I wanted. I used the color Buzz as my all over lid color, and blend out the edges with the same brush that I used for my crease. I darkened the outer v with the shade Darkhorse and use the crease color Nooner to blend out the outer v. Using a clean fluffy brush, blend off harsh lines till all the shades look blended. The key here is to blend, blend, blend! Next up, I added the color Burnout to the center of the lids, and used the shade Strange to highlight the brow bone. To finish off the look, I used a brown pencil eyeliner to line my eyes, and smoked out the liner for a more smokey effect, and top it off lots of mascara.
For the rest of my face, I kept it really simple. I actually did not put any foundation on. I just used some concealer on my under eyes, around the nose and mouth and chin and used a translucent powder to set everything. I add a little bit of bronzer to warm up the face and used a peachy blush (MAC Pinch O Peach) on my cheeks. And of course for the lip color, I had to go with a nude pink lip (surprise, surprise). I’m wearing Gerard Cosmetics Buttercream and Buxom Lip Polish in Samantha on top of it.
For those of you who doesn’t have this palette and wants to recreate this look, I’ll linked some affordable eyeshadow palettes that you could get from the drugstore or online. They have very similar shades you could use to recreate this look, or you could use mine as an inspiration to create your own eye looks. =)
