One of the major trends that’s been huge lately is the velvet trend. I’ve seen it on shoes, dresses, bags, sweaters, and accessories even, like chokers and neck ties. I personally love the velvet trend, and I think that this luxurious fabric would look really good for the upcoming holidays. Velvet and sequins sounds like the perfect party combo, don’t you think?
Since I am currently into this trend, I thought I should show how I would style it, so I did a look book where you can see me style the velvet trend three different ways. These looks are perfect for holiday parties or any event that you’ll be attending!
Look 1 – Accent piece
When I dabble with new trends, I like taking it slow by incorporating accessories in that particular style or fabric, and pair it with something more basic like an all black look. Since velvet is a statement piece by itself, you always want to go with a basic look the first time, and experiment with it more as you go along. This look is great for any formal events if you’re attending one.

Look 2 – A Statement Piece
Okay, so you think you got this whole velvet thing down, so why not take it up a notch with a velvet article of clothing. I love this velvet skirt, because the pink is very subtle, and the lace detail on the hemline adds a feminine touch. I paired this with a basic sweater and black pumps to keep the look balance. This look is very appropriate for family gatherings or for an office party.

Look 3 – Embracing the Trend
So you got the accent piece, and the statement piece of clothing. Now why not go all out by wearing head to toe deck in velvet! I love this silver velvet dress! I don’t own any color like this one, and it’s a head turner piece as you could tell by the high slit. I paired this velvet dress with some strappy velvet heels and love how this look turned out. This look is perfect for parties with friends, or a formal party… if you don’t mind showing off too much skin! Heh!

I hope you like this holiday look book! I have two more look books in the works, and a few more makeup looks before the Xmas time. That way you have some inspiration to work with for your holiday parties.
