Happy Tuesday Beauties!
Before I was really into makeup, I was never a fan of wearing concealers. Why bother with concealers if you could just cover up your blemishes with another layer of foundation. Boy, was I wrong! Extra layer of foundation means you’ll get caked faced and that’s not a pretty look. Of course, being only seventeen you don’t know all of these things until you watch tons and tons of Youtube videos and start learning a thing or two about the use of concealers. Even when I was in my early twenties, I still don’t like them. But now, concealers are everything to me. After learning about the amazing things that concealers can do for your face and your makeup looks, I have a full container of concealers stashed in my dresser. I guess when you get older, your perspective on things change over time, and now I am happy to say that I’m a concealer hoarder. Haha! That’s a little side story about my evolution of concealers… well, sort of!
Anyway, let’s get back to serious business. If you’re someone who doesn’t like to wear foundation everyday, concealers are your best friend. Not only are they use to hide blemishes, they are amazing for hiding dark circles, highlighting parts of your face and you can also use it for contouring if you’re on a budget. Most of my go-to, ride or die, holy grail concealers are from the drugstore, and they are all under $10. Yes, you read that right. Don’t get me wrong, I love some of the higher end concealers too, but nothing compared to some of the ones that I’ll mentioned here in this post. I feel like some concealers from the drugstore, are even better than their high end counterparts. Keep on reading to find out more.
Here are my top 5 drugstore concealers:
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (20 sand sable) $4.99
This concealer is one of the best concealers ever made. It is a light to medium coverage concealer. I love the light texture of the product. It feels moisturizing when you apply it, and it highlights your under eyes beautifully without any creasing. It blends out nicely and easily too. The product does not dry quickly which some concealers do therefore making it difficult to blend. If you have dry under eyes, this concealer would be great for you.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (medium) $6.79
Another cult favorite right here. This is a light to medium coverage concealer. It has a neutralizer shade, and a brightening shade as well. The neutralizer shade is great for those of us who has dark circles, and if you’re just looking to brighten up the under eyes, go for the brightener shade. I love this concealer for quick skin pick me up if I am looking a little dull. I’d apply the concealer on the areas around my nose, mouth, chin, in between the eyebrows and under the eyes, blend it with a beauty blender and set with a translucent powder for an instant refreshed look.
Maybelline Face Studio Master Conceal (40 medium) $6.79
Can you spot a pattern here? It seems like most of my favorite concealers are by Maybelline, and they are! Another one I really like from Maybelline is this one. It is a medium to full coverage concealer. The consistency is much more thicker than the other ones I mentioned. Although it is thick, it is good for concealing blemishes, or little scarring and hyperpigmentation on the skin, and I love it for that purpose. Not recommended to use this under the eyes though, because it will crease badly due to its thick consistency.
NYX HD Concealer (cw4 Beige) $3.74
Another one I really enjoy using from the drugstore is this concealer by NYX. This is a full coverage concealer, but the consistency is not as thick therefore it works so well for your under eyes. I love using this concealer for highlighting under the eyes and other parts of my face when using a more lighter coverage foundation. This concealer tends to dry quick, so you do have to work with one eye at a time. Other than that, it blends easily and has a beautiful HD finished.
L.A Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer (creamy beige) $4.00
When I bought this concealer 2 years ago it was only $2.99. Oh inflation! Anyhoo, when I tried on this concealer for the first time, I was so impressed with it, and became a favorite right away. It was the ONLY concealer I used for at least 6 months. It is a light to medium coverage, and the finished is so beautiful and flawless. I only have to set it very lightly with a powder just so it would not settle into the fine lines. This concealer does not crease, but the product does dry quick as well. Another thing I really love about this concealer is the huge color range, so there’s a shade for everyone. I love the darker shades for cream contouring, and they also have corrector shades as well. Highly, highly recommend this!
And there you have it! Let me know if your favorite drugstore concealer is on this list, and if not, what are some of your favorite concealers that you use from the drugstore! I wan to know, that way I could test them out myself. Haha!
As always thank you guys for reading, and see you in my next post!XOXO ❤
