Hi everyone!

Today’s blog post is going to be my beauty favorites for the month of January. Wait, we are already at the end of January? Wow, this month went by fast! If you’ve been with me since January of this year, you might notice my posting schedule. Every Tuesday is going to be a beauty post, and on Fridays are for my style/lifestyle posts, and my post will be up at 1630 hours, eastern time. I tried to do morning posts, but turned out that I work slow in the mornings so mid afternoon it is! I know I tried to do so much on my blog in the past, but now I am gonna take it at a steady speed and I find that Tuesdays and Fridays works well for my schedule. Anyway, enough about that and let’s continue with the good stuffs.

So, I wasn’t sure if I did a favorites post in November, but I know I certainly did not do one in December because I can’t decide if I want to do best of the year, or just for that particular month, that’s why I ended up not doing it at all! Ha!

I got some good stuff during the last Sephora VIB sale and I said that I would show you the things I got but never did. I know, I know… I procrastinate a lot. However, I did play with a lot of these products and I have been loving using these goodies since late December till the entire month of January. That’s why they are in today’s favorites post! Let’s start with makeup, and then skincare!

MAKEUP

Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette

I don’t think I use any other palette than this one this entire month. Omg you guys, this palette is my favorite matte shadow palette ever! I love all the neutral shades and the pigmentation is amazing! It is so buttery soft to the touch. Even though there are tons of “pickup” when you dip your brush in,there aren’t as much product fallout when you apply it to your lids. The black shade in this palette is so black that I would sometimes use an angle brush to do my liner with it. This is definitely a must have palette!

Loreal True Match Lumi Foundation (w5)

If you have dry skin like I do, this foundation is for you. I love the dewy finish of this foundation and does not feel heavy on the skin at all. This is my everyday foundation if I am wearing minimal makeup for the day. I heard that this foundation is the exact dupe for the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation, and that this foundation is way way way affordable of course!

MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation (NC35)

In the winter, I’ve been setting my foundation with a heavy powder, because it gives a flawless look especially in photos. My favorite powder is definitely this Studio Fix powder by MAC. Though I have dry skin, I would only apply heavy handedly on the areas around my jaw and cheeks, and a really light hand on my t-zone. If you’re looking for a similar alternative to this powder, Loreal True Match powders and BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Matte powders are great options as well.

City Color Be Matte Blush (Papaya)

Sticking to the all matte themed here, another favorite item I’ve been religiously wearing is this matte blush by City Color Cosmetics. This blush is so so pigmented and would you believe me when I tell you that it cost $3.99??? Yes, for under 5 dollars, this bad boy works like a dream. If you do get this blushes, remember that a little goes a long way because the pigmentation is insane!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

Yesss!! Like finally, I got my hands on this baby! I’ve been eyeing this palette so much, and kept putting it in and out of my cart forever, but I finally decided to take the plunge and bought this $62.00 palette!! *ouch*  This is such a gorgeous face palette. On days where I don’t want to wear a highlight, I would reach for this and mix all three colors together and apply it on my cheekbones and on the tip of the nose for a natural glow look. I would also use the first two shades to set my concealer and brighten the center of the face. These powders feels so luxurious, even the packaging is gorgeous! I love the natural glow from within look, and this palette would look so good on brides for their wedding makeup! Take notes bride to be! Haha!

Oh did I mention the brush I use to apply these powders with? The Anastasia #23 brush is such an amazing brush to apply the powders on your cheekbones. It fits perfectly to the contour of your cheekbones, and apply just the right amount of product as well. And of course, this has become my go to brush for my other highlighters as well!

Nars Velvet Lip Glide (Bound)

I am not sure if this would be considered a liquid lipstick, because it does not feel like a liquid lipstick. I really love this formula because it feels so comfortable on the lips and you could literally reapply it over and over without the product cracking up. I love all the red shades in this range, and probably gonna get a shade or 2 more for a Valentine’s Day inspired makeup look.

SKINCARE

Innisfree Green Tea Mineral Mist

I finally finished up this big bottle of facial mist!! I love, love this facial mist and it has the most amazing scent ever. It keeps your skin refreshed and hydrated through out the day. The reason it took me this long to finish it, is because I don’t want to run out of it, and I would not know where to get a replacement. Haha! I still have a small bottle of this left, and I keep that in my purse! Are there any facial mist you recommend that I should try out?

And those are all my favorites of this month! I am scouting for new affordable makeup to try out and do reviews and makeup looks with. Let me know your suggestions and I would start hunting for products online and at the drugstore. Don’t be afraid to share your suggestions!

As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great one!XOXO ❤
