Ever since my husband introduced me to Crest Whitening Strips, I start obsessing with whitening my teeth all the time. But after a few treatments, I noticed that my teeth have gotten really sensitive to a point where it start to feel uncomfortable that it hurts. I wasn’t a coffee drinker at that time, so I was surprised by how quickly my teeth got white. But as the years go by, I started to develop a love for coffee and my teeth starts having coffee stains and yellow (ewww). I tried all different kinds of DIY treatments, from baking soda with hydrogen peroxide, just baking soda mix with toothpaste and the results were not as satisfying.
When Smile Brilliant contacted me, I was so beyond excited to try their at home, professional, custom fitted teeth whitening system! Am I intriguing you yet? You’re probably thinking “Wow, custom fitted? How does that work?” Well my friends, I will go through the steps and process with you and you’ll see how easy this is.
After you placed your order with Smile Brilliant (you can get 10% when you click this link), they will send over a box with all the things you need to create your custom trays, as well as the whitening gels. What I love about Smile Brilliant is that they provide desensitizing gels for when your teeth gets too sensitive. This was a major plus for me!
Before you get your custom fitted trays, you would need to mold your teeth using the paste they provided and the instructions to do it is really simple.
After you mold your teeth using the paste, it should look something like this. Be very careful when you’re doing this, especially if you’ve never done teeth molding because I was gagging and drooling all over. Haha! Wait for your mold to harden and rinse it with cold water. Once your mold is dry, just put them in the prepaid envelope which they provided in the box, and send it back to them and they will send you your custom trays based on your teeth mold. Sounds awesome right?
Once you got your custom fitted trays back, it should look like this, and you can already start using your teeth whitening gels. It even comes in a handsome case so you can easily store your trays after you’re done with your treatment.
I love how easy it is follow the instructions. As per the instructions, I used only 1/3 of the whitening gel per session you are supposed to leave it on for 45 minutes or up to an hour. I had mine on for only 45 minutes, and while waiting you could have your husband take candid photos of you, or catch up on your favorite shows on Netflix!
**Note: I found out that I was a few weeks pregnant when I started the treatment. I did call my doctor and ask if it was safe to do professional home whitening while pregnant, and she said yes, as long as I do not swallow any of the product. There is a warning label on the packaging which says it’s not meant for pregnant women. So be sure to check with your doctor if it is safe for you to use if you’re expecting.
After using this home whitening system for about 2 and a half weeks, I am pretty impressed by how white my teeth has gotten. Although, I did experience some sensitivity on my lower teeth, but not as bad. That’s why the desensitizing gel is a life saver for when you ever experience some sensitivity. Here are my before (top) and after (bottom) photos!
