Happy Friday lovelies!!
Oh hey, I finally got around to do a pregnancy update post! Woohoo!! I know it’s been awhile since my last update, but a lot has been going on since my last preggo post and I don’t know where to start. Well actually, I do! First of all, I am finally halfway through my 3rd trimester! I feel like this pregnancy has been going by really fast actually. So before pregnancy brain kicks in, let’s do a little bit of recap of my 2nd trimester…
During my second trimester, we had the 20th week anatomy scan which we found out the sex of the baby and I also did a gender reveal announcement (check it out here). We also went to visit family members in Nebraska for a couple weeks for some R&R and we definitely need a vacation before peanut arrives. I forgot how relaxing it is in the mid west, and everyone there are so friendly and nice. While I was there too, my mother-in-law threw me a baby shower! It was small but so much fun and I love everything about it, the pink decor, delicious food and desserts, played some games, and the best part… prezzies!
After our mini vacation, I did a maternity photo shoot when we got back to Virginia, and I’m sure you’ve seen my maternity photo shoot post!
When I went in for my next monthly appointment, the doctor told me that my amniotic fluid is on the low side and I need to do another ultrasound the next few days so they could check the level again. That was really disconcerting. Apparently I wasn’t drinking enough water (even though I feel like I am). So the next few days before my ultrasound appointment, I did what the doctor recommend and am thankful that when I got my results back, my amniotic fluid level is normal again. I was actually excited for the ultrasound test, because we get to see her again. This time, we could see her face, and as the sonographer said “she looked like she’s dabbing!”. Hahaha!
Now I am at 32 weeks. As far as symptoms go, I felt the ligaments on my hips are loosening because every time I walked down the stairs, I could feel like a popping motion in that area. Now whenever I switch sides while sleeping at night, my hips literally pop! Sleeping at night has been harder than ever, just because as the belly gets bigger, it’s difficult to find a comfortable position to sleep in. My only “comfortable” option is sleeping on my sides, with a pillow between my legs. Oh, I’ve been waking up a couple times at night to pee, which is always fun! Haha!!
So far throughout this entire pregnancy, I’ve gained 25 pounds. I still do not have major cravings, but I love sweet stuff like cakes, ice cream and Nutella! I mostly eat anything I want. I eat a lot of red meat, homemade chicken wings, carbs and I was on a steamed broccoli and cherry tomatoes kick for a while. Everything in moderation of course. I noticed that my appetite has slowed down now in my third trimester, but I am still snacking a couple times per day.
Lets talk about baby kicks! Peanut has been kicking really, really hard and I could even feel it when shes pushing down on my bladder (which is not comfortable at all). I could start seeing some bulges on my belly when baby is pushing hard on the side, but sadly no feet print yet. 🙂
These last 2 months are going to be really exciting for me because firstly, we are currently working on the nursery! We’re done painting the walls, the inside of the closet and the only thing left is painting the baseboards and the doors. I have so much ideas for the baby’s room and I can’t wait for it to all come together. Maybe a nursery tour soon when it’s complete? Besides the nursery, I’ve also been shopping for baby stuffs. I could not help myself when buying those cute baby clothes. I feel like getting every cute stuff I see, and I’m trying my best to restrain myself from doing so. I am also starting to compile a list of items for my hospital bag, that way I don’t have to panic and stress out the last minute if when baby decides to make an early appearance. Let’s hope not!
That’s my pregnancy update post! If you mommies have any advice or things I should include in my hospital bag, please please leave your suggestions in the comment section! I’d love to read your suggestions! Let me know also, if you want me to do nursery tour post, or do a “what’s in my hospital bag” post in the next couple weeks.
